ABA Consultation

Applied Behavior Analysis is the science of behavior.  It is the application of behavioral principles which determine if the interventions that are applied are actually the reason that the behavior has changed.  Applied Behavior Analysis involves numerous strategies and methodologies used to change behavior.  The use of discrete trial teaching is one methodology commonly associated with home programs for children with autism and is often refereed to as "ABA programs".

As part of our services we provide consultation to set up home programs using discrete trial teaching. We use this methodology  in order to teach new skills to the students we work with in both the home and school setting.  We individualize a plan for each student, write specific programs to teach new skills and provide training and on-going support for the team of individuals working with the child.

AESS also specializes in teaching school personnel how to set up and implement ABA programs using discrete trial teaching in the classroom.  We offer training, hands on practice, and evaluation of staff in order for schools to set up programs within the classroom that are consistent with IEP goals and with home programs.
